Originating in Assam in North Eastern India, where the names Bih and Bhut Jolokia are interchangeable it was tested by Assam based Commercial Chilli Growers Frontal Agritech at 1,041,427 Scoville Heat Units. In 2001, the Institute received seed of a chile named 'Bhut Jolokia' from a member who had collected it while visiting India. |
